Though we have several marketing strategies to market ones products and services in the UK, the challenges involved are getting tougher by the day. One of the major reasons why marketing is becoming such a huge challenge in the UK is the recession and current global economic melt down. The UK is one of the countries that has been affected very badly by the recession. All walks of people have been affected from individuals, families, small businesses to multinational corporations. The credit crunch has made even top banks close their businesses as they were unable to cope with the loss. Many people lost their jobs while others experienced layoffs that resulted in reduced pay. All these have made the buying capacity of people reduce drastically. As a result, there are fewer customers in each industry. At the same time many new businesses are coming into the industry making the competition much stiffer.
